You can watch the overview video above, or continue reading to explore the newest enhancements now available in the platform.

Workspaces

Our most requested improvement has arrived. Previously, every user operated as an independent account. Although projects could be shared, library assets, layouts and analytics were not.

Now, all users belong to a workspace. A workspace contains your licence, user allocation, projects, and shared library assets such as toolbox items, colours, and fonts.

Each user still retains their own personal assets, while also benefiting from access to shared workspace assets.

This is a significant upgrade for teams with multiple seats, as assets only need to be uploaded or defined once for everyone to use, improving consistency and reducing duplication across projects.

Team Management

You can manage users and assign roles within the Workspace Team area of the Cadasio dashboard. Every workspace must have at least one team member with Admin permissions.

Roles

Each team member is assigned a role. We provide several default roles, and customers on a Premium subscription can create custom ones.

  • Admin - Full access to all areas. There must be at least one Admin.
  • Designer - Can open and edit projects and layouts.
  • Billing - Access to billing and subscription settings only.
  • Viewer - Can log in and view published projects. This is ideal for controlled, internal access and is available to Premium users.

For users with mulitple seats, reach out to us if you need to discuss setting up your team further.

Security Enhancements

We recognise that not every project should be publicly accessible. You can now restrict published projects so they are only viewable by users within your workspace.

This can be configured on a per-project basis via the privacy options in the Publish Online dialog, or applied universally from the Security area in the workspace dashboard. Global restrictions can still be overridden for individual projects where required.

Alignment Tools

We recently added powerful tools to the designer to help streamline model positioning.

Align Tool

Align one or more parts to a reference part by selecting your items (the first selected item becomes the reference), clicking Align, and choosing a face or bounding-box mid-plane for everything to match.

Orient Axis Upwards

Imported parts follow the orientation defined in the source CAD file. When you need to rotate objects into a more logical presentation position, the new Orient Axis Upwards option provides a faster workflow.

A bounding box appears around the selected object, simply click the face you want to point upwards.

Explode Tools

While manual control remains ideal for detailed exploded views, we have introduced explode options for quick separation when appropriate.

Choose from Linear, Spherical, or Symmetrical modes to rapidly achieve the desired result.

Light Follow Camera

With Light Follow Camera enabled, the scene lighting attaches to the camera, ensuring consistent illumination regardless of viewing angle.

This is a step-level property, meaning it can be toggled on or off. When disabled, the light remains fixed at its last position, making it easier to place than before.

Meta Properties

Meta properts (also known as custom properties) are additional data brought through from your initial CAD., which can be used to populate text and labels. Based from suggestions from our customers we have added a couple of useful features to help manage them.

Export / Import Meta Properties

Based on customer feedback, you can now export meta properties to CSV or JSON, modify them externally, and import the updates back into your project.

Choose whether to export only the selected items or the entire assembly, then update or extend the data and re-apply it with ease.

Exclude from Table

For parts that should never appear in tables, you can now mark them with the Exclude from Tables option within the Meta Properties panel.

Layouts

Layouts continue to be an extremely popular addition for Premium users, enabling fast, high-quality 2D documentation from 3D projects.

We are actively enhancing this area based on customer feedback and will be expanding its capabilities further   so please keep sharing your suggestions.
